Chairman
Linda Johnson Rice is the Chairman of JPC, publisher of EBONY and JET magazines and the parent company to Fashion Fair Cosmetics. Under her leadership, the company remains the number one Black American owned publishing company in the world. As Chairman and daughter of the founders John H. Johnson and Eunice Johnson, Rice possesses the institutional knowledge of the organization and is the steward of the vision for the company. She is committed to ensuring the legacy that her parents built Rice holds a BA from the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California and a Masters of Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Desiree Rogers

Desiree Rogers

Chief Executive Officer
Desiree Rogers was appointed CEO of Johnson Publishing Company in August, 2010. Rogers has known the company for over 20 years through personal relationships with the Johnson family and comes to the position with an extensive track record in brand rebuilding. Most recently, Rogers served as the White House Social Secretary for President Obama where she spearheaded the establishment of the White House as the people's house where she managed over 350 events.  In addition she has extensive corporate experience and a network of relationships built over 25 years. Rogers has a BA degree in Political Science from Wellesley College and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Cheryl Mayberry McKissack

Cheryl Mayberry McKissack   was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in January, 2013. In her role, Ms. Mayberry McKissack is responsible for media sales, marketing, production, operations, and research. She also assumes the role of President of the company’s digital business unit which houses properties including the EBONY Collection, EBONY.com and JETmag.com. Cheryl Mayberry McKissack was the founder, President, and CEO of Nia Enterprises, LLC, a consulting firm she has operated for the past 12 years.  Prior, she served as the Worldwide Senior Vice President and General Manager for Open Port Technology and was Vice President for the Americas and a founding member of the Network Systems Division for 3Com (formerly U.S. Robotics). Ms. Mayberry McKissack received her B.S. from Seattle University and her MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where she has also served as an adjunct professor since 2005.

Johnson Publishing Company Names Rich A. Magid Chief Financial Officer On January 22, 2013 Rich A. Magid was named the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Magid has worked in finance and accounting for 32 years. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Managing Partner of Stadium Capital Financing Group, a finance and marketing consulting firm; an affiliate of Morgan Stanley. Prior to this position, Mr. Magid wasChief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Director for Natural Golf Corporation. Mr. Magid also served as Chief Financial Officer and Board Member of Sportvision, Inc. Mr. Magid holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mitzi Miller became Editor-In-Chief of JET magazine in May 2011. Mitzi Miller is an award-winning journalist and the bestselling author of five books, including the wildly popular Scholastic/Point 3-book teen series, Hotlanta. Mitzi brings an impressive journalistic record to her role. She has been an editorial consultant for Juicy and SET magazines as well as a contributor to Essence, VIBE and Uptown Magazine. She was the entertainment editor at HONEY magazine where she wrote the popular 'girl-around-town' column. Mitzi was also a TV and culture critic for VH1 and Food Network. She is a graduate of Florida A&M University with a BA in English.

Amy DuBois Barnett became Editor-In-Chief of EBONY magazine in July 2010. She is an award-winning media executive, writer and brand architect. Most recently, she was the deputy editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar. Prior to Harper’s Bazaar, Barnett was the managing editor of Teen People, entering history books as the first African-American woman in the country to head a major mainstream consumer magazine. She also served as editor-in-chief of Honey magazine for nearly three years while launching Honeymag.com. A Brown University graduate, Barnett also has a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Columbia University.

Tenia Davis was appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources in November 2011. Davis brings more than 20 years as a Human Resources professional with experience in the Entertainment, Aerospace/Defense, Healthcare and Insurance industries. During her career, Davis has focused intensively on Organizational Development & Training and Organizational Behavior. As Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Davis provides strategic leadership by articulating Human Resource needs and plans for JPC. Davis completed her MBA at Loyola University in Chicago.

Kevin Ridley

General Counsel
Kevin Ridley was appointed General Counsel of Johnson Publishing Company in August 2011. Ridley brings years of extensive experience having served as Assistant General Counsel at Exelon Corporation where he was responsible for advising business units on various commercial and operational matters. As General Counsel for Johnson Publishing, Ridley will oversee all legal affairs within the company. Ridley attended Morehouse College, received his BS in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, and earned his JD from Howard University School of Law.
