Johnson Publishing Company Appoints Staff to Bolster Web Presence
Chicago - Nov. 30, 2006 - Johnson Publishing Company, publishers of E bony and JET magazines, is rapidly expanding its Internet presence and today announced the appointment of veteran online leader Eric Easter, formerly of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, to direct its new media efforts as Chief of Digital Strategy. In addition, Bryan Monroe, vice president and editorial director of both magazines, announced that Terry Glover, who had previously worked as Managing Editor of Savoy Magazine and was an online editor at Playboy.com, will join the team as Senior Editor/Online, in charge of digital content. "We are extremely excited about our new direction and leadership team," said Monroe. "Our E bony and JET readers have come to expect dynamic, reliable information about the African-American community, and both Eric and Terry will play critical roles in delivering these new online strategies to readers." Easter comes to Johnson Publishing Company from the Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive in Washington, D.C., where he managed the communications strategy, branding and promotion for websites including washingtonpost.com, newsweek.com, slate.com and several other sites. As Chief of Digital Strategy, he will be responsible for developing and supervising all aspects of online, new media and Internet strategy for Johnson Publishing Company. Glover has spent the past dozen years as a senior online and print journalist, as Chicago editor for Uptown magazine as well as at Savoy magazine and Playboy.com. She will be responsible for creating and managing all online news and Internet content for E bony and JET magazines.
