EBONY & JET NAMES NEW INTEGRATED SALES/MARKETING LEADERSHIP TEAM

Tanya M. Hines Appointed Vice President; Nijole S. Yutkowitz Named Sales Director

CHICAGO – Tanya M. Hines, former INROADS, Inc. vice president of national sales, has been appointed vice president of integrated sales and marketing for EBONY and JET
iconic brands. In this newly created role, Hines will lead the development and execution of a world-class integrated national marketing and sales strategy to create key client solutions and support the company’s revenue growth.

Nijole S. Yutkowitz, who has served in a variety of key sales and advertising roles at EBONY and JET magazines, has most recently been appointed sales director. Yutkowitz will incorporate her broad publishing experience into the company’s integrated platform and help oversee advertising sales for both publications in the print, digital and entertainment arenas.

“Tanya and Nijole are both talented visionaries who have proven track records of success, which will help further underscore our commitment to deliver exceptional value and outstanding results to our customers,” said Anne Sempowski Ward, president and COO of Johnson Publishing Company, Inc. parent company of EBONY and JET magazines.

Hines’ award-winning career spans more than 19 years. Most recently, as the INROADS, Inc. vice president of national sales, Hines oversaw client relationships for national and strategic accounts within the United States, Canada and Mexico. She spearheaded the strategic development, organizational design and capability for national sales.

Additionally, Hines enhanced the business planning process and created the framework to determine the future growth analysis for national and strategic accounts; and she is credited for leading the way to securing key relationships with INROADS’ top 30 clients across multiple industries including United Technologies, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, MetLife, United Health Group, Qwest, IBM and Target.

Prior to INROADS, Hines held numerous leadership positions during her 18-year tenure at Procter & Gamble within areas such as sales management, customer relationships, organizational capability and human resources.

A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Hines graduated from Marquette University with a B.S. in business administration. “I am deeply honored to be a part of such an iconic brand that will reach across multiple platforms to meet the unique needs of our valued customers,” said Hines. “We are prepared to help take the EBONY and JET brands to the next level within the everchanging
landscape.”

Yutkowitz, who holds a B.A. in psychology from Chicago State University, has more than 20 years of experience in the sales industry, with a majority in publishing. She has held a variety of management positions, including her role as a senior account executive for JET magazine, where she was later promoted to associate Midwest advertising director.
