EbonyJet.com is launching an original online comic strip entitled Dreadman April 8. The comic strip, which features topical images and story lines that focus on pop culture, will be produced by voiceover guru and former on-air radio personality Dave Fennoy. "I hope my comments and point of view are a reflection of many who may not always see theirs in the media," said Fennoy. "I hope to share a little bit about what's going on in the world and leave the reader with a smile, a laugh, or a reason to think." The content of Dreadman is original and will be updated twice weekly on EbonyJet.com. Eric Easter, chief of digital strategy for EbonyJet.com, said the cartoon is part of our effort to bring new voices and unique perspectives to the digital space. "Comics have been a historical and popular element to the E bony brand in print. With EbonyJet.com, this was a way to establish that tradition for a new generation and a new medium," said Easter. "David's innovative use of computer-generated cartooning mixed with topical images and showcases the model for how Web sites can approach comics online." After an extensive career in radio in the San Francisco area , Fennoy moved to southern California to pursue a voiceover career in 1990. His voice has been included in numerous cartoons and video games. He has also voiced commercials for networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, The WB, Fox, Starz, The Disney Channel, Soapnet, A&E, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, Showtime and TV One. He is the announcer of the NAACP Image Awards , The Black Movie Awards and the introductory voice of the long-time syndicated hit Showtime At The Apollo . EbonyJet.com is a daily online magazine of global politics, arts and culture from the publishers of Ebony and Jet. Fennoy joins an exciting group of talented writers and contributors including William Jelani Cobb, Meri Danquah, Jennifer Brea, dream hampton, Monroe Anderson, Greg Tate and more. Both Easter and Fennoy are available for media interviews.
